All Users

Each customer is responsible for keeping their private irrigation ditches or pipelines clean and free from vegetation and other debris. The District has an obligation to minimize the waste of irrigation water. Therefore, the District may withhold the delivery of water to customers that fail to keep their ditches or pipelines free of vegetation and other debris.

You are responsible for the control of all irrigation water received through your delivery turnout. Therefore, please keep your borders, berms, ditches, and other water control features in good condition.

Please report all flooding or water delivery problems to the District at (480) 988-9581. This telephone number is answered 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Please try to call the District during the time that you are experiencing the problem. District staff will attempt to promptly resolve your problem. The District will not be able to resolve your water delivery problem if you call the District after your irrigation run is over.

Subdivision Users

Shown below are the basic responsibilities of each Subdivision customer that receives irrigation water from the District.

  • You should check the Subdivision Board Sign-Up box before 11:59 p.m. on the posting date for your scheduled water time. Water may be scheduled for your Subdivision Board as early as 12:01 a.m. on the day following the day that the water schedules were posted. You should also watch for other notices that may be posted about your Subdivision Board.
  • You should familiarize yourself with how your Subdivision Board is irrigated. You should know where the gates are located in your private system and how to properly set the gates. You should ask your neighbors for help in learning how your private system irrigates because your neighbors are better informed about your private system than District staff.
  • You should keep your private delivery system in good working order. You should keep your ditches clean and repair any leaks. Keep your pipelines from becoming obstructed. Keep your gates and valves operational and repair any leaking equipment.
  • You must start and stop your water use on time according to the times shown on your posted Subdivision Board sheet. You should take water only during your scheduled time. If you take water before your start time or continue past your stop time, then you are taking someone else’s water. If you are late picking up your water, then you may cause flooding of private property and you would be held responsible for any resulting damages.
  • You should set your gates, valves, and ditch checks properly so that you receive the full amount of the head size assigned to your Subdivision Board. Again, if you set the water control equipment incorrectly, then you will not receive the proper amount of water and you would then either take someone else’s water or possibly cause a flooding of someone downstream of your property.
  • You should only order the number of hours of water that you know that you can control. Do not order more water than your yard or pasture can hold or you may cause flooding. You are responsible for all water that is scheduled during your start and stop times.
  • Before you call the District about a low or no water flow problem, first check your private system thoroughly for internal problems. The gates in your Subdivision could be set wrong causing your water to go elsewhere in the Subdivision. If the gates are set incorrectly, then your scheduled water may flow to other users causing flooding. You would be held responsible for any resulting flooding damages. If you are unable to find a problem with your private system, then attempt to call the District during your irrigation run.
  • You should control your irrigation water so that your water does not flow into the streets or onto adjacent properties. Municipalities may fine you for not controlling your water.
  • You should contact the District before you arrange to have repairs made to your private system. After receiving notice from you, the District will schedule a time to dryup your Subdivision so you can make repairs. Please notify the District after repairs have been completed so we can resume irrigation service to your Subdivision.
  • You should maintain open and clear access to easement-protected structures, standpipes, ditches, gates, and valves.
